I worked with Angie at CVS Health on the F6 compliance project, which resulted in changes to the backend systems. Angie was the program manager charged with managing the changes to the user interface that would need to be completed by numerous agile release trains (ARTs). She facilitated weekly project leadership meetings and team meetings to get the work slotted in the appropriate program increment. In addition, she gathered status from the various ARTs, relentlessly followed up to make sure that the work was scheduled and being delivered in a timely manner. What most impressed me is the information that she captured in Smartsheet and the weekly Status Reports that were distributed to senior leadership.
I had the great privilege of working with Angie Newsome at CVS Health, for the past year while she held the position of Senior Program Manager, Digital reporting directly to me. During her tenure, Angie consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and problem-solving skills, key program management responsibilities and stellar teamwork skills. Angie played a pivotal role in critical, high visibility programs which resulted in a successful journey to implementation. Angie was not only reliable and dedicated but also exhibited a strong work ethic and commitment to achieving the company vision and goals. In addition to her professional skills, Angie exhibited stellar positivity and outstanding interpersonal skills. She was extremely well-liked by colleagues and leaders alike and displayed an exceptional ability to join forces, put people first, rise to the challenge, and inspire trust. Angie is a quick study, an incredible mentor to peers and leaders alike and extremely talented.
I joined with the Revenue Cycle PMO at Providence in October 2019 and that is where I met Angie. I came to know quickly that she was the technical voice of the PMO in Revenue Cycle. This means she had a great feel for the way the business used their systems of record (Epic) and other technology to impact changes in business operations. What I quickly noted was how well Angie could take a complex issue and simplify it in such a way that others (especially new guys like me) could grasp it and frame it up for problem-solving. She had a solid reputation with senior stakeholders and peers alike. That aside, Angie was constantly adding timely levity to the tense situations we all experienced during a difficult year. Project Management, also known as the art of operating with no authority and all the responsibility, requires technical knowledge from sources like PMBOK, Lean Six Sigma, Agile and other methodologies and approaches. But what makes a GREAT Project Manager is their humanity. Angie brought that to the group. I'd gladly work with her again.
